Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Alveque takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website or buy our products, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have over it. It applies to everyone who visits alveque.com, creates an account, places an order, or signs up to hear from us.

1. How to contact us

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, get in touch with our support team through the Contact page, or email us directly — we're happy to help.

2. What data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity & contact data — your name, email address, delivery and billing address, and phone number.
  • Order data — details of products you've bought or subscribed to, order history, and delivery preferences.
  • Payment data — limited payment information needed to process your order; full card details are handled directly by our payment provider and are not stored on our systems.
  • Account data — your login details and any preferences saved to your account.
  • Technical data — your IP address, browser type, device information, and how you interact with our website, collected automatically through cookies and similar technology.
  • Marketing data — your preferences for receiving marketing from us, and how you engage with our emails.

We don't intentionally collect any special category data (such as health information) about you, beyond anything you choose to share with us directly — for example, if you contact our support team about an allergy or dietary requirement.

3. When we collect your data

We collect data when you create an account, place an order, subscribe to a product, sign up to our newsletter, enter a competition or promotion, contact our support team, leave a product review, or simply browse the website (through cookies — see section 7).

4. How we use your data, and why

We only use your personal data where we have a proper legal basis to do so:

  • To fulfil a contract with you — processing and delivering your orders, managing your subscriptions and account, and handling returns.
  • Where we have a legal obligation — for example, keeping records for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Where it's in our legitimate interests — to run and improve our website, understand how our products are used, prevent fraud, and keep our systems secure — always balanced against your right to privacy.
  • Where you've given consent — for example, signing up to receive marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time.

5. Marketing

We'll only send you marketing emails if you've opted in, for example when signing up to our newsletter or ticking a box at checkout. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by contacting us directly — this won't affect order confirmations or other essential communications about a purchase you've made.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data for as long as we need it to provide our services to you, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you close your account, we'll delete or anonymise your data unless we need to keep it for one of these reasons.

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies — small files stored on your device — to keep the site working properly, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use our website. We use:

  • Essential cookies, which are needed for core features like your shopping bag and checkout to work, and can't be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies, which help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
  • Marketing cookies, which are used to show you more relevant ads and measure the performance of our campaigns.

You can manage or withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time through your browser settings or the cookie preferences on our site.

8. Who we share your data with

We share data with trusted third parties only where necessary to run our business — including our delivery couriers, payment providers, IT and hosting providers, and marketing and analytics platforms. We require anyone we share data with to keep it secure and to only use it for the purposes we've agreed. We don't sell your personal data to third parties.

9. Where your data is processed

Your data is primarily stored and processed within the UK. Where we use service providers based outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in line with UK data protection law.

10. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. While we work hard to keep your data secure, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

11. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Ask us to delete your data, in certain circumstances
  • Ask us to restrict or object to how we process your data
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we're relying on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact our support team. We'll respond within the timeframes required by law.

12. Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including on Nora's Journal. We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of other sites, so we'd encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing any personal data with them.

13. How to complain

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The version published on this page is the one that applies, so please check back occasionally.
